Rabobank Utrecht heeft zich opnieuw voor een periode van drie jaar verbonden aan het Van Schijndelhuis in Utrecht. Ook de afgelopen jaren steunde de Rabo de Stichting Mart van Schijndel, die tot doel heeft de kennis over en het gedachtegoed van de Utrechtse architect Mart van Schijndel te beheren, te ontsluiten en te verspreiden. Dit jaar bestaat het Van Schijndelhuis aan het Pieterskerkhof in de Utrechtse binnenstad twintig jaar. Mart van Schijndel (die in 1999 overleed) ontwierp het woonhuis voor zichzelf. Het huis wordt nog steeds bewoond en is op afspraak geopend voor rondleidingen en culturele activiteiten. Het is erkend als het jongste gemeentelijk monument in Utrecht. “Het Van Schijndelhuis past in onze strategie alle culturele voorzieningen in de Utrechtse binnenstad, van het Domplein tot en met de Agnietenstraat, aan ons te binden”, zegt Stijn Terlingen van Rabobank Utrecht. “Vooral omdat het werk van Van Schijndel een prachtig voorbeeld is van moderne architectuur en ontwerpen.” Namens de Stichting Mart van Schijndel toont penningmeester Sierd Roosje zich verheugd met het verlengen van de overeenkomst met Rabo Utrecht. “Het is mooi, dat zo’n prominent Utrechts bedrijf zich voor langere tijd aan ons wil verbinden”, aldus Roosje.
